It all stared in middle school in 6th grade. I was always made fun of because of my Afro hair and acne filled face. I did brush my hair and my family is poor, so straightners and things like that never happened. Now, I had a horrible childhood with dad’s never really having one and being abused when I was super young until we met our 5th dad and my mom finally settled down. I was bullied in 6th and 7th but 8th was worse. The name calling went from circus clown to pubic hair. When I first met my class, they touched my hair and threw things in it. They asked me if I ever washed my hair and this happened everyday. Once this boy which I will not name names ended up sitting next to me. He called me ugly and kept throwing paper in my hair. I stood up for my self and told him to stop, but then I was told to shut up by most of the class. The teacher ignored it. It was the next day and it was lunch time. I was sitting next to my best friend and I loved her like a sister, but that’s when that changed. A boy who was her friend and a girl who I didn’t know started throwing chips in my hair. I asked them what did I do and they said I was born. I was gross. I should wash my hair. I need a new face. I had pubic hair on top of my head. My friend was laughing. I started crying and they just made fun of me more. Although I had another friend, but she was dating my guy childhood friend . I thought he was my friend. He’d hit me and call me ugly and saying he didn’t want me around as soon as he dated my other friend and I was ignored. Now most would think I had my parents to help me with the bullying , but they were wrong. My step dad and my mother called me ugly for having natural Afro hair and they would cut it if they couldn’t put a comb through it and I showed them they could. Although my parents didnt stop there. They always tell me that my hair belongs in a bag with a Halloween costume and more comments over time. I didn’t want my afro hair cut, I loved it. Although the bullying also happened by two girls. It was a normal school day and I wanted to make new friends. So I sat with two girls I didn’t know. They told me not to sit with them, because looking at me would cause them to throw up. The bullying continued and I became emotionaly detached even today. Thing only thing i trust now is animals and I put up two faces not really trusting anyone, because there was no one to help me. Animals were the only thing I had growing up and they still are today. It’s been a year since 8th grade and im still bullied.
