I remember being in 6th grade. My school was fairly big so there were many students. There were a group of girls that I was, and other girls as well, were afraid of. This year, I had a lot of trouble with anxiety. So, when I was around those girls, it only made my anxiety build up. They talked crap about everyone. I was so nervous that when I tried to talk back, I would just stutter, so they would make fun of me for that. I would often fake being sick (at least once a week) and I’d always be in the nurse’s office trying to go home, just to get away from the bullies. This continued until about 8th grade. I had more friends to back me up, but it seemed like I could never get away from the bullies. In middle school, the bullying only got worse, and I began think that what they said about me was true. I got into a big hole of depression until I decided to stand up for myself. So I told my mom what was going on and she got me into therapy and talked to the schools principle to try and sort things out. The bullying didn’t stop, but I started to ignore it. For all the years that I tried to run away from it, it only made it worse. So I faced it and now I know not to listen to those bullies. No matter where you go, you will not get away from all those mean jerks, so you HAVE to face them. Don’t be mean back, just have a voice and stand up for yourself. Show them that their words do not hurt you.
