I was bullied for 4 years and it was terrible. The worst of it all was in 7th grade. I had two best friends who stuck by me through thick and thin. I had one friend whom I told my secrets to and the next day came to learn that it was spread around the school. I was hurt physically and called names like “depressie” and “freak chick”. One day it went too far. My friend told the school that I went far with a boy when I didn’t and people started to put notes in my locker commenting rude and inappropriate things about me. When I was in class and I had to speak in front of people, I would run out crying because of the abuse they shouted out at me. They were my classmates, why did they have to be so cruel towards me? Everyday I would come home and just cry into my pillow screaming and would have mental meltdowns. I would be in class and people would say “I would ask if you needed help, but you’re so depressed that no one can help you.” It hurt to know that’s what people thought when they looked at me. It hurt so much I started to cut myself under my ankle, but one day in gym a girl saw the cuts and screamed “look now she’s emo and crazy.” Each teacher talked to me about it and I refused to speak because my school never did anything to stop bullying. The bullies didn’t stop and I felt that my only out from this was suicide. They would ask me “why are you here?” and I thought maybe I shouldn’t be here anymore. After everything I went through like being betrayed by my so called friends, I tried to kill myself because I thought I couldn’t find a better solution to end the bullying. I was stopped by my real friend Jamie. She heard me coughing so she ran into my room and took my hands off my neck. She saved me and I’m so grateful to her. Now you know my story.
