My friends’ 11-year-old nephew has been bullied for months now and the principal has done nothing to stop it when he was informed. He is STILL being bullied at school. He told the principal about a month ago that kids started calling him GAY. And he is not Gay and even if he were it DOES NOT give kids the right to push him, tease him, call him names, boycott using the bathroom with him, make him an outcast! He has been put on depression/anxiety meds.. He stopped eating, couldn’t sleep, cried most days and became very isolated.
He wanted to dye his hair (to fit in with the other kids) and even felt he had to change his clothing preference to ease the suffering! He got rid of all of the clothes he liked and replaced them WITH HIS OWN MONEY.When he asked why they kept calling him that…The girls that were teasing him told him “you’re gay because of the way you walk and talk and dress… You just look gay”. My friends’ nephew feels so lost in his own skin and contemplated ending his life.
