In the past 2 years, two girls in my neighborhood have been hanging out with each other a lot. There are 7 people in my neighborhood and we are like family. But this family is obviously cracking apart. These two girls have treated each other like they are golden and would team up against my sister when they argued, causing my sister to come home crying. I hadn’t noticed that this was getting bad until the girls started having sleepovers every night, leaving my sister and one other girl out of the group. These two started to go everywhere with each other like movies, local theme parks, and more. But now I can already see the problem growing. I was with one of the girls and she saw the other girl. She ran across the street, and I ran with her. One girl walked into the house, letting the other in, and they locked the door. This had been happening a lot recently, and frankly, I am sick of it. I decided to listen to what they said. One girl invited the other to Disney over the summer. Again, the 7 kids in the neighborhood are like family. We love each other. I heard this and left the house. The parents have gotten into fights over why my sister is crying all of the time. (She’s 11. I understand that we are young, but feeling left out all the time is a terrible feeling). And I can’t tell what I’m going to do. I told my parents, who are very angry about it, and I think I may confront the girls about how disgusted I am about the situation. Again, I can picture the girls getting suitcases and leaving for the trip, and my eyes tear up because we are supposed to be like a big family, although those two girls don’t act like it. They act like little bratty twins. I can’t take it anymore with them and I’m scared of what my sister might do if she finds out because she feels so left out all the time from those two…like a third wheel.
