My bulling started when I was in 7th grade. It was difficult because I had just transferred to Lawrence middle school. It was hard making friends because I was a shy boy. When I was starting to be more open, people would just talk about me without knowing me. I was lucky I was only verbally bullied and not physically. I never told anyone one about people talking shit about me. It was getting to the end of my 8th grade year when all the sports from Chatsworth high school would start letting out the word for their try outs. I decided to tryout for the drill team/ color guard because I love to dance. My freshman year started and people started to know that I was on the drill team. It was hard because I would hear behind my back “fag” “faget” or “gay”. It was hard because I was the only boy on drill team. It was hard also hard because I am gay but I didn’t want anyone to know. I would lie to people saying that I wasn’t gay. I wasn’t able to make myself happy. My sophomore year I decided to come out. I told you mom and she was excepting of who I am. Now I’m a junior going to be a senior. There’s now three other boys in the drill team. My advice to who ever reads this is to do what ever that makes you happy. I say this because no matter what went on drill team made me happy. Every time I heard the music play I would get lost in the song. It made me forget everything that was going on around me. Plus it made my high school experience better. I hope my story helps people do what ever makes them happy and don’t think of what other people think of you because the only important person is yourself. You are the only one that makes you happy.
