I’ve been bullied ever since I was six. Girls would push me, hit me, call me names, the usual stuff. When I hit sixth grade, life became even worse. I had to hide split lips, black eyes, and scrapes from my mom because some of the nastier bullies would gang up on me. I’d barely get out in one piece. A few years later, in ninth grade, the one family member besides my mom that actually loved me passed away: my Papa. I started constantly wearing the scarf he made me two days before his death, and the bullying got harsher because I looked weird, never taking it off. Girls pulled my hair, called me awful names, shunned me, stole my few friends, even tripped me in dance class. I felt so hated. I started cutting. Merely four weeks ago I nearly overdosed on sleeping pills, utterly fed up with all of it. Six years is a long time to be bullied. As I write this, I cry, mourning the loss of my remaining friends who loathe my very existence.
