  • - Cindy

In 4th grade all I wanted was be one of the popular girls, they were pretty and would curse, fight, and do mischievous things but everyone seemed to like them. By 6th grade, I was still trying to be one of them, but instead the “popular” kids pushed me around called me nasty names, and stole my stuff. One girl told a group of 8th grade girls in the PE locker room I was trash talking about them, so it provoked them to want to beat me up. I ran to dean’s office for help but the 8th grade girls had a good reputation so the dean thought I was lying. Girls’ threatened me in my grade, I had no one to go to and being a middle child at home, I felt so alone. The most hurtful thing was in Pre-Algebra class in 7th grade when my teacher asked the whole class, “What’s one thing everybody hates?” In addition, several students said my name. I could not believe it as the whole class laughed and the teacher said, “Ok so we all hate Cindy” I banged my head several times on table and began to weep. All I wanted was to fit in but I did not belong anywhere…
